Who can't have a breast augmentation. Is there anything that prevents someone from being a good candidate?

Dr. Daniel. (00:05):
Active infections, certainly. I think there are medical risks to any surgical procedure. I look at general surgical risk's. One of the first things that I talk about, really, for me to take any patient to the operating room, surgery has to fulfill three main goals. Number one, it has to be safe, and that's the sine qua non to prep for any surgical procedure. Number two, it has to be gorgeous and that's why I do nothing but elective cosmetic surgery. But number three, I want it to last a long time. So the techniques that I employ are ones that are tried and true and that have worked for me in my practice. I've been at this year is going to be dating myself 34 years I've been in private practice. I do think I've kind of got it figured out.

(00:51):
I'm still really happy with results. I'm still really happy doing what I'm doing. I think I'm doing some of the best surgeries ever right now. But I think that the people that can't really do well with augmentation, it's more medical reasons. And then certainly if somebody comes in the day of surgery and has an active of eruption, acne, bad rash under their breast, something like that, then that's a reason to cancel them the day of the surgery. But I think a lot of people in today's world have heard about implant related illnesses way back in the late eighties, nineties, such there was a lot of stuff about connective tissue diseases and implants. And even though there wasn't a good study that showed a correlation between the presence of silicone gel implants and the development of these diseases, again, statistically there were some people that got better when their implants were removed. So somebody's had a real go of it with autoimmune diseases, we have a pretty good talk about whether that's something that she wants to do.
